Uganda is a very safe destination for tourists. The National Army provides security in the National Parks and also provides military escorts for visitors viewing the mountain gorillas. Magic Safaris has offices in Kampala and is monitoring the situation. Please don't hesitate to submit your questions.

Uganda Security update - 01 November 2008 - Situation DRC (Congo) - Kivu region.
1. We would like to stress that this situation in the Kivu region (Congo) is not new and is lasting for many years. The incidents are only on the Congo territory and like in the past years this doesn't necessary affect Uganda Tourism. Rwanda and Uganda have taken the necessary steps to protect their borders and National Parks.
2. There are no incidents reported with the Congo border and all safaris are proceeding normally.
3. Update - 01 Dec 2008: There are Congolese refugees entering the Uganda border at Ishasha border post. The refugees are registered and transported to different camps within Uganda by the Uganda Government in cooperation with the United Nations (UNHCR). This action is set up peacefuly and is well orgenized. There is no impact for Tourism.
4. We will continue to follow up the situation closely.
