Golden monkey (cercopithecus mitis kandti)
Golden monkey (cercopithecus mitis kandti)
Golden monkey is characterized by bright golden body, cheeks and tail, contrasting with its black limbs, crown and tail-end. It is listed as "endengered" by the World Conservation Union.

Golden monkeys live in large groups and always guided by a dorminant male. They seem to have a hierarchical society, like baboons.Golden monkeys are rare and obscure, and they're just beginning to be studied. They are highly endangered, so it's a race to study them before they disappear. Reserachers have already take up the study and some groups of Golden monkeys in Volcanic mountains parts of Uganda and Rwanda have been habituated for visitors to see. The good news is that as they are studied, protected and better understood, Golden monkey's threat of extinction is minimized.
